1. Tallinn– The Capital of Estonia.

Tallinn is historically unique city, where an old architecture is successfully combined with buildings of our century.

Itinerary of excursion:

At 6:30 am – departure from Riga. The road will lead us along the coast of Baltic Sea. Here it is Vidzeme Seacoast, where its indigenous inhabitants had settled in XIX century. At the same time there emerged many resort villages. The oldest ones are Vecāķi, Inčukalns, Pabaži, Saulkrasti, Salacgrīva and Ainaži. Ainaži – place, where lived the ancient Livs. Ainaži and Ikla are navigation centres of the 19th century. We are also going through Pjarnu – one of the oldest populated areas of Pjarnu creek.
About 12:00 am – arrival in Tallinn. Excursion begins in the historic centre of contemporary Tallinn – in the Old City. We will learn something about geographic and historical development of the city. Tompea hill is the place, where laid one of the historical centres of the city. During the sightseeing we will visit a defensive tower Tall Hermann, mediaeval ruins, Dome Church, and The Great Coastal Gate of Middle Ages as well as fragments of fortification - Town Wall. We will see Town Hall Square and its buildings – the centre of political and social life (in the lower part of Tallinn). St. Olav’s Church is the one of the most important buildings in all Baltic Region.
After excursion we will have free time for a walk in Tallinn.
At 18:00 pm – end of excursion and departure.
At 23:00 pm – arrival in Riga.
